On your land

Portable sawmilling

Have logs felled and stacked on your property? Our portable mill comes to you, so you keep the wood that already has your history in it.

  • On-site milling, no hauling logs off your land
  • Beams, boards, lumber, and slabs cut to your dimensions
  • Eric visits first to walk your site and advise how to stage logs before the mill arrives
  • After milling, we'll show you how to stack and cover your lumber, out of the sun and rain, so it dries right

We come to you

Portable milling on your land

  1. Tell us about your logs. Species, count, and where they're sitting.
  2. Eric visits and mills on site. He will meet with you to assess the best options for your situation.
  3. You keep everything milled. Stack and cover it, and it's yours to build with once it dries.
You come to us

Lumber from our mill yard

  1. Tell us what you need. Precut lumber, a custom cut sheet, or just come browse what's in stock.
  2. We cut it at our Mountain City yard. True-dimension lumber, ready when you are.
  3. Pick it up and build. Seasoned lumber's ready now; fresh-cut is ready once it dries.

Site not set up for the mill to work on-location? Bring your logs to our yard instead — we'll mill them there.

Custom Sawmilling and Wood Products is a small, owner-operated outfit based in Mountain City, Tennessee.

Eric spent more than twenty years as a professional arborist, working in and around trees long before he ever put one on a mill bed. That work taught him how a tree actually grows — the tension and compression built into every trunk, and how that shapes the way it cuts, dries, and holds. He's carried that knowledge into sawmilling for twenty years since, and that rare combination puts him in the top tier of the sawmilling world.

Every log gets the same attention he'd want for his own place: cut clean, cut true, and cut to last.
